About us
We're builders who've been in the founder's seat.
Happyfluencer started because we kept seeing the same problem: great ideas stuck behind bad software. We built the team we wished we'd had.
Our story
Built from frustration. Refined by experience.
Our mission
To give every ambitious founder access to the kind of technical team that used to be reserved for well-funded companies.
Great software shouldn't require a Series A.
How it started
In 2021, our founders were running a fintech startup and burning through agencies that over-promised and under-delivered. After the third missed deadline, they decided to build their own team — one that actually understood what it meant to ship under pressure. Happyfluencer was born from that frustration.
What we learned
Building our own product taught us things no agency ever told us: that architecture decisions made in week 2 haunt you in month 8, that onboarding is a product feature not an afterthought, and that the best code is the code you don't have to rewrite. We brought all of that into how we work with clients.
Where we are now
Today we're a team of 12 — engineers, designers, and product thinkers — working with startups across fintech, healthtech, and devtools. We've shipped 12 products, served 40+ clients, and maintained a 4.9-star average across every engagement.
How we work
Six things we believe about building software.
Outcomes over outputs
We don't celebrate lines of code or hours billed. We celebrate activated users, closed deals, and products that actually work in the wild.
Honest over comfortable
We'll tell you when your idea has a flaw. We'd rather have a hard conversation in week 1 than a failed launch in month 6.
Ship, then improve
Perfect is the enemy of launched. We build things that work, get them in front of users, and iterate from real feedback — not assumptions.
Founders first
Every decision we make is filtered through one question: does this help the founder win? Not us, not the process — the founder.
Craft matters
We care about the details — the micro-interaction, the error message, the loading state. Because your users notice, even when they can't articulate why.
Long-term thinking
We build for the version of your company that exists in 3 years, not just the one that exists today. Architecture decisions are bets on your future.
The team
The people behind the products.
Marcus Reid
Co-founder & CEO
Former fintech founder. Sold his first startup at 28. Believes the best products are built by people who've felt the pain they're solving.
Yuki Tanaka
Co-founder & CTO
10 years building distributed systems at scale. Obsessed with architecture that doesn't become a liability. Writes more tests than anyone on the team.
Amara Osei
Head of Design
Spent 6 years at a top product design agency before joining. Believes that good design is invisible — and bad design is all you can see.
Lena Kovač
Lead Engineer
Full-stack generalist with a bias for simplicity. If a feature needs a 10-minute explanation, she'll find a way to make it need two sentences.
Darius Webb
Product Strategist
Former VC analyst turned product thinker. Helps founders separate the features that matter from the ones that feel like they matter.
Preet Sharma
Senior Engineer
Specialises in performance and infrastructure. The person you want on the team when your app suddenly has 10x the users it had yesterday.
